Don't Be Stupid
It seems, judging by some of the posts on the local Yahoo group, some are getting all bent out of shape about the Jeju Navy Base.
A word of warning. Immigration takes a very dim view of E-2 Visa holders getting involved in political activities. If you get busted and you are on an E-2, I think you can probably kiss your butt goodbye.
I have been reading the posts on the local Yahoo group and some people are writing some really dumb stuff. I'm sorry, but it is. Here are some examples:

Of course, if he/she were to substitute the words "Native Speaking English Teachers" for "Korean" maybe the writer would see some humor in what they wrote. But, my all time favorite:
95%? Really? Source?.........I thought not. "I hope they shoot them all" WTF? That isn't the least bit funny, even if made in jest or as a vehicle for sarcasm.
Maybe people need to remember what the words "democracy," "republic," and "government" really mean and not fall into the trap of thinking democracy means governing by opinion poll or that democracy means government by who can scream the loudest.
If you want to be stupid on-line (like yours truly from time to time) that's fine. But if you want to go out to the construction site and be stupid, well.....it's on you. I, for one, will not feel the least bit sorry for you.

The only thing that is "silly" here is to regard Koreans *daring *to

Yeah, they're just like little children, believing that they actually have a democracy, that just because 95% of them voted against this base, that it ought to actually mean something.I hope they shoot them all.
