Just In Case God Can't Find Them...

I will never understand the Korean Christian obsession with neon crosses. At night, if you stand on a hill overlooking any city in Korea you will see a "plethora" (I'm reading the dictionary again...) of neon crosses. The only explanation for the Korean neon cross obsession I can come up with is maybe Korean Christians are afraid that God has really bad eyesight and needs help finding them.

I just pray that God did not assign a Korean Christian the task of decorating heaven.....

As Mrs. LOJ and I were walking home this evening we passed the above church located on the second floor of a two-story building. The first floor is a restaurant.

I can't help but think that Korean church pastors have some sort of cross-envy thing going on. I can just imagine them sitting in a local sauna comparing cross sizes. Of course, there would be one pastor in the group that would insist that it's not the size of the cross that matters, but how you use it. All of the other pastors would agree excitedly, especially the ones with really teenie, weenie crosses. But, in their hearts they know that, to the ladies in the church, cross size DOES matter.

I wonder if, when Korean Christian ladies meet a new pastor, they ask themselves "I wonder how big his cross is? Hmmmmmm....."

I'd better stop this now .........
